Canada Border Services Agency officers have seized 187 kg of suspected cocaine hidden inside a transport truck at the Blue Water Bridge in Ontario, in what officials call a major blow to drug trafficking efforts.The truck arrived from the United States on June 12 and was directed to a secondary inspection. Officers, aided by a detector dog, found 161 bricks of suspected cocaine packed in six boxes inside the trailer. The drugs have an estimated street value of $23.3 million.The driver, 27-year-old Karamveer Singh, of Brampton, Ontario, was arrested and handed over to the RCMP along with the seized narcotics. Singh has been charged with importation of cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The investigation remains ongoing.CBSA officials say this is the fourth major cocaine seizure at the Blue Water Bridge this year. Across southern Ontario ports of entry, officers have seized a total of 978 kg of cocaine in 2025.Federal Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree said the bust highlights the importance of border and law enforcement cooperation, calling it “outstanding work.” The RCMP also praised the inter-agency collaboration in preventing illicit drugs from reaching Canadian streets.Canada is spending $1.3 billion to strengthen border security and the immigration system.
