A Calgary Police Service (CPS) officer has been charged following a domestic incident involving his family.
Police responded to a home around 10 p.m. on Saturday, after receiving reports that two family members had been assaulted during a dispute.
The suspect had already left the residence but was later located, arrested, and charged with two counts of assault.
Due to the domestic nature of the incident, the officer’s name has not been released to protect the privacy of those involved.
The officer, who has been with CPS for 14 years, has been relieved from duty pending a further review of his status.
