A woman in her 50s has died after being struck by a 12-year-old cyclist on a northwest Calgary pathway last weekend.Police say the collision happened around 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 2, when the woman and her husband were walking north of Hidden Valley Drive N.W. A youth on a bicycle approached from behind and hit the woman, knocking her to the ground.She suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. Police were not called at the time of the crash and did not attend the scene.The woman has since died, and police have opened an investigation. Officers say impairment and speed are not believed to be factors.Anyone with information is asked to contact Calgary police or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
