A high school math teacher near Calgary has been charged with sexually assaulting one of his students.
On Jan. 21, Cochrane RCMP initiated an investigation into conduct of a teacher from Springbank Community High School after a female student reported inappropriate behaviour.
That day, RCMP arrested Timothy Bailey, 49, a resident of Calgary. He has been charged with the following offences:
Child luring
Making sexually explicit material available to a child
Sexual exploitation
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Bailey was released on conditions and will appear in Alberta Court of Justice on Feb. 18 in Cochrane.
Bailey is a military vet, joining the Canadian Army Reserves in 1992. he served two tours in Bosnia.
At the time of his arrest, Bailey was a teacher at Springbank High School. Cochrane RCMP is continuing their investigation and believe there may be more victims.
