Ryan Petroff, 23, has been identified as a suspect in Tuesday's vehicle ramming attack in Toronto that injured four people.
He fled the scene in what is believed to be a stolen vehicle, and has not yet been located.
"We believe this individual is dangerous, and we are urging the public not to approach him," Toronto Police Service 51 Division Insp. Errol Watson said during a press conference on Wednesday. "If you see him, call police immediately."
Watson told Petroff, "if you are seeing this, get legal counsel and turn yourself in to the police."
According to the TPS, the green Honda Accord Petroff was allegedly driving at the time of the attack had stolen license plates, DEDZ 565. It is unclear whether he is still in possession of the vehicle.
He is wanted for two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, two counts of failure to comply with probation, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, and driving while under suspension.
The incident took place shortly before 2 pm EST on the Toronto Metropolitan University campus near Gerrard St. East and Yonge St. Petroff allegedly mounted the pavement on the Nelson Mandela Walkway and struck three people sitting on a bench, injuring four. Two were taken to a nearby hospital with "serious but non-life-threatening injuries."
The TPS said it is treating the incident as "an intentional, targeted attack towards a specific person on the walkway."
