Alysha Newman, 30 and from Delaware, ON, has won the bronze medal for Canada in the women’s Olympic pole vault at the 2024 Games in Paris. Newman’s 4.85 m jump, a Canadian record, was beat by Australia’s Nina Kennedy and American Katie Moon at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, FR, Wednesday.Team Canada now has 19 medals: six gold, four silver and now nine bronze.
