CALGARY — Four pedestrians have been struck by a vehicle during a “civil emergency” which cut short the Tsawwassen First Nation’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event, prompting officials to tell participants to leave and the public to avoid the nearby area.Delta police have confirmed they are dealing with a collision on First Nations land at Tsawwassen Mills Mall."At this point it appears to be a medical incident," the police said on their official X account. "Four pedestrians have been struck and are being dealt with by Emergency Health Services. Delta Police are on scene and investigating.".Emergency Health Services are on the scene, along with and other first responders.So far, police have not confirmed if there are any fatalities and say the incident appears to have been accidental..“An incident is currently in progress that has ended our Truth & Reconciliation event,” the nation said in an emergency alert.“Participants are asked to walk back the way we came and stay out of the area.”The City of Delta also shared the alert on social media and urged residents to avoid the Tsawwassen Mills area.More to come...
