Two people are dead and two are fighting for their lives in hospital following a group overdose on Vancouver Island near the town of Metchosin, 20 km southwest of Victoria.No foul play is suspected, and authorities have claimed there is no risk to the general public.In a press release, the West Shore RCMP explained that around 6:30 am on Friday August 30, officers responded to reports of people "experiencing medical distress" at a beach access parking lot off Taylor Rd. Upon arrival, they discovered "evidence of hard drug use." BC Emergency Health Services and Metchosin Fire Department personnel were called to the scene, however despite their efforts, two women were declared dead. Two men who "appeared to be suffering drug overdoses" were rushed to hospital in "critical condition."
