The United States has made the largest fentanyl bust in the nation's history.

Sixteen people were arrested in the process, including a number of Sinaloa Cartel members — most of whom were in the country illegally.

According to Attorney General Pam Bondi, around 11.5 kg of fentanyl was seized, including three million fentanyl pills. An additional 35 kg of methamphetamine, 7.5 kg of cocaine, and 4.5 kg of heroin was also recovered, alongside $5 million in cash and 49 firearms.

"When we catch you like all of these individuals, if convicted, we will put you behind bars," Bondi said. "There will be no negotiating and we will lock you up for as long as humanly possible. We will not negotiate with those who are killing our family members, including brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, parents, friends, everyone in this room."

Among those arrested was Alberto Salazar Amaya, a high-ranking member of the cartel who had been living in Salem, Oregon.
