Prominent Alberta Liberal Charan Chahal, brother of Calgary Liberal MP George Chahal, has been removed from his employer's website (University of Calgary Properties Group) following vulgar comments on social media.
Charan's disappearance from the website may or may not be connected to his comments. The company did not respond to an inquiry from the Western Standard.
"I will give you a present when you are on your knees in front of me — protein and warmth from my manhood," said Charan in a heated Facebook exchange with Calgary Conservative MP Shuvaloy Majumdar and several community members over the Christmas holidays.
"This wanker, Mujumdar, has such a hard-on for my brother, it's pathetic," said Charan, who's LinkedIn profile mentioned his education at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
"An MP in Alberta is so concerned about another MP. What do you do for Alberta?" added Charan.
The Facebook dust-up was provoked by Majumdar, who posted that Calgary McKnight constituency residents demanded an election for Christmas.
"They want to send local NDP-Liberal porch pirate George Chahal packing and vote to axe the tax, build the homes, fix the budget, and stop the crime," he wrote.
"A great day at the doors with our common sense Conservative team. Thankfully, this time, Chahal wasn’t out stealing presents."
George Chahal paid a $500 fine in 2021 for removing an opponent's promotional literature from a doorstep during the federal election.
Most of Charan's Facebook comments were benign as he defended his brother George.
"An MP of Alberta and Canada on Christmas has a great response to honour himself with negativity," said Charan, who was listed as a project manager for the University of Calgary Properties Group at the time.
"(Majumdar) should show his support for the community. But he is focused on another MP of Calgary. Fools are shown by words and thoughts," said Charan.
