A Calgary CTrain operator has been charged following an April incident in which an 11-year-old pedestrian was struck while crossing at a marked crosswalk.The collision occurred around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, at the Banff Trail Station in northwest Calgary. According to police, the child was crossing the tracks when a northbound CTrain entered the station and hit the pedestrian.The child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment..Following an investigation by the Calgary Police Traffic Unit, 60-year-old Gordon Steve Ferdinands has been charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.Police continue to seek additional information about the incident.
