Hatred on the campaign trail apparently spilled over into Calgary on Monday with Liberal candidate Sabrina Grover claiming her workers were spit on and slapped..The alleged incidents came as the 2021 election campaign has taken a nasty twist recently with rhetoric heating up and protesters even throwing gravel on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a stop in Ontario on Monday..“Today, two of my campaign workers were attacked in an apartment building in Calgary-Centre,” tweeted Grover..“They are shaken but OK..“But this is not OK. I am born and raised Calgarian. This is not who we are..“Slapping and spitting on someone because they represent a political party that you don’t support is unacceptable. Destroying the signs of the only female candidate in the riding is also unacceptable.”.Also this weekend, a PPC candidate gave a weak apology after calling for Trudeau to be assassinated..Grover admits she doesn’t have a solution to what is an apparently growing problem in the political world..But Grover vows she will not bow to what she calls a “hateful minority.”.Dave Naylor is the News Editor of the Western Standard.,dnaylor@westernstandardonline.com,.Twitter.com/nobby7694
