A Calgary man is facing a sexual assault charge after allegedly attacking a woman he met on a dating app last fall.According to police, the victim began chatting with the man online in November 2024 and later agreed to meet him in person. On Tuesday, Nov. 19, the two met at a downtown restaurant before going to the man's residence, where police say he sexually assaulted her.The woman reported the incident to police earlier this year. Following an investigation, 30-year-old Nathaniel Mark Thomson has been charged with one count of sexual assault.He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Sept. 5.Police are reminding the public there is no time limit for reporting a sexual assault in Canada, and encourage anyone who believes they are a victim to come forward, regardless of how much time has passed.Anyone with information about this or similar incidents is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, www.calgarycrimestoppers.org, or via the P3 Tips app.
