A Calgary massage therapist has been charged with sexual assault following a police investigation into an alleged incident involving a client at his business late last year.

Police say the victim was receiving a massage on Dec. 11, at Zen Massage – Cristiano Potamianos RMT, located at 205-259 Midpark Way S.E., when the alleged assault occurred.

The victim came forward and reported the incident to police in March.

Following an investigation, Calgary police charged 45-year-old Cristiano Capriglioni Potamianos with one count of sexual assault. Potamianos owns and operates the massage therapy business where the incident is said to have taken place.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, May 12.

Police remind the public that in Canada, there is no time limit for reporting a sexual assault. Victims are encouraged to come forward regardless of how much time has passed.
