The Calgary Police Service (CPS) has taken a man into custody after he stabbed another man at the 8 St. Station. .“At 5 a.m., an injured man used a help phone at the Eighth Street CTrain Station to call for help,” said CPS in a Monday statement..“Calgary Transit was able to immediately call for emergency services who transported the man to hospital in life-threatening condition as a result of what is believed to be a stabbing.”.A review of Calgary Transit CCTV revealed a potential suspect description, and the suspect was tracked to Century Gardens Park. .CPS said the 8 St. Station’s platform is expected to be closed for some time while the investigation continues, but trains remain operational. .Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek said in March she has made it clear to city administration she expects immediate action and resources deployed to address chaos on the LRT. .READ MORE: Gondek pledges action against violence on Calgary LRT.“We cannot wait for the next tragedy to occur before something more is done,” said Gondek. .“As a municipal government, we must provide better transit safety for Calgarians.”
