Calgary police have positively identified human remains found outside Calgary in May 2024 as those of Robert Stanley Mainland — also known as Bobby or Bubbles — who was last seen near a 7‑Eleven in the southeast community of Forest Lawn in early January 2023. Officers now believe his death is the result of foul play, and the case is being treated as a homicide. “Robert’s family have been without answers for more than two years,” says Staff Sgt. Mark Rahn of the CPS Homicide Unit. “We are exploring all possible leads and urging anyone with information to come forward. Even the smallest piece of information can be the detail we need to solve the case.”Police are pursuing all leads and strongly encourage anyone with information — no matter how small — to come forward.
