Calgary police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man believed to be responsible for multiple purse thefts at the Peter Lougheed Centre in northeast Calgary.The first theft occurred on Friday, November 1, when a man allegedly entered an office at the hospital, stole an employee’s purse, and fled. Shortly after, the suspect reportedly used the victim’s debit and credit cards to make multiple fraudulent transactions.The second incident happened on Saturday, November 23. Police believe the same man stole a purse from a nursing station at the hospital. This time, the victim confronted the suspect, causing him to drop the purse before fleeing the scene.The suspect is described as being in his 40s, approximately 5-ft. 8-ins., 200 lbs., with balding short hair and a goatee.Anyone with information about the suspect or these incidents is urged to contact Calgary police at 403-266-1234.
