The fine includes a 20% victim surcharge, and the company has been placed under 18 months of enhanced regulatory supervision. Three additional charges were withdrawn by the Crown. The charges stem from a June 8, 2023, incident in which a worker died after falling through an opening while replacing a building’s metal roof. Both the Crown and the company have up to 30 days to appeal the decision or penalties.
