Kamloops RCMP have issued a public interest notification regarding the release of 30-year-old Taylor Dueck, a convicted sex offender deemed a serious and imminent risk to children under 16.Dueck, who has been convicted of sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon or threats or bodily harm, and sexual interference of a person under 16, is being released into the Kamloops community after completing a provincial sentence. He is described as 5'9", approximately 175 lbs, with a medium complexion, blue eyes, brown balding hair, and a full beard. .Dueck will live under strict probation conditions that include 24-hour house arrest and a complete prohibition from entering areas where children are present or expected, such as parks, swimming pools, schools, theatres, and daycare centres. He is also banned from any direct or indirect contact with anyone under 16.CTV reported Dueck was the subject of outrage in the B.C. legislature last year after he was charged with several offences against an 11-year-old girl in the bathroom of an equestrian centre in Kelowna..He was denied parole in 2022 over concerns he’d reoffend, but was released into the community at the end of his sentence in 2023."Dueck was the subject of police public warnings in 2020, when he was released in the Fraser Valley, after serving time for sex crimes. But in 2023, there was no such warning. The equestrian centre charges were laid in March 2024," CTV reported. The father of the girl — whose name is protected by a publication ban —told CTV at the time that it was “mind boggling” that the community wasn’t warned about Dueck’s release.RCMP say Dueck will be closely monitored to ensure compliance. Anyone who witnesses him violating these conditions is urged to call 9-1-1 immediately. The alert was issued under the Privacy Act of Canada in the interest of public safety.
