A 21-year-old Edmonton woman has been charged after RCMP investigated multiple allegations of assault at a daycare in Sherwood Park.Strathcona County RCMP said they received a complaint on April 3 regarding an incident at Emerald Park Daycare. An investigation by the General Investigative Section led to the identification of five victims, all between the ages of 5 and 8. Police say the assaults occurred over a two-week span between March 17 and April 3. No serious injuries were reported and none of the children required medical attention.Navam Sharma has been charged with five counts of assault. She was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on July 9.Her Facebook page is locked but it says Sharma came from Chandigarh, India and studied at NorQuest College.Facebook user Kristen Savoie Stumph said in a forum, her child was one of the children allegedly assaulted."This was my son, and he was choked by her. Other children were slapped in the face, head and back.""I can not tell you how happy I am to see this publicly posted, this daycare hired a lawyer to send me a cease and desist letter (to shut my mouth) while I was trying to inform as many parents as I could at the daycare. They kept her employed during all of these allegations.
