Diddy Combs' legal team has requested bail because he's "the only man in America behind bars for hiring male sex workers to bang his girlfriend."This is according to TMZ who says they obtained the bail package documents detailing the request prior to his October 3 sentencing. His lawyers, Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos claim it is absurd for Diddy to be in jail because he was convicted of hiring professional male escorts, not minors, who participated in threesomes with his ex-girlfriend Cassie and "Jane". Combs was convicted on two Mann Act violations. The Mann Act is a federal law which makes it illegal to transport individuals across state lines for illegal sexual activity. The maximum time which can be served upon conviction is 10 years. .Combs could be sentenced to a maximum of 20 years. But Combs' team argues most individuals charged and found guilty of Mann Act counts are released prior to sentencing. They say lots have changed since 1910 when the act was created, and claims Combs didn't have sex with the escorts — his ex-girlfriends did. Combs had previously been denied bail after the jury returned their original verdict, but still escaped charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. .The bail package includes a $50 million bond secured by Diddy's Florida estate and three "financially responsible people."It says Combs will stay in his Miami home and limit his travel to the Southern District of Florida and the Southern District of New York.He would be under the supervision of the US Pretrial Services Agency and would surrender his passport. His team adds other bail conditions would be acceptable..The judge assessing the bail request has to make a ruling.
