A "neighbourhood dispute" in Maple Ridge, BC has left three people dead.The Independent Investigations Office of British Columbia has been alerted, and is looking into what happened.According to the IIO, Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to reports of a dispute in the 11800 block of 239 St. shortly after 6:30 p.m. on July 23. Officers spoke with "several individuals" and no arrests were made.Four hours later, Maple Ridge Fire Department informed police of a vehicle fire and break and enter in progress in the same location. When officers arrived on scene, they found two vehicles and the attached garage on fire, with two people deceased inside the home. Believing that the suspect was armed with a weapon inside a neighbouring home, police set up a containment zone. They eventually entered with the assistance of the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team. A third individual was found dead, though it is unclear how they lost their life.The fires were quickly extinguished, and the IIO began investigating the actions of police related to the third death. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is concurrently investigating the first two deaths.None of the individuals' names have been made public."As the matter is now under investigation by the IIO," the agency wrote in a statement, "no further information will be released by police."
