A 32-year-old Edmonton man has been charged with multiple sexual offences against a minor, and police believe there may be additional victims.
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) began investigating last summer after receiving a report of sexual assault involving a 14-year-old boy.
Detectives from the Child Protection Section determined that the suspect had met the boy through Snapchat, using the alias and display name "BadLee."
Following the investigation, Yasin Cetin, 32, was arrested and charged on March 13, 2025.
His charges include sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, luring a child under 16, making child pornography, and distributing child pornography.
Cetin has been released under strict conditions. He is prohibited from having any contact or communication with individuals under 16 and from attending public locations such as swimming areas, schools, daycares, playgrounds, youth shelters, and public libraries.
Police have expressed concern that there may be other victims, as Cetin has been actively involved in local and national youth initiatives.
In an effort to identify additional complainants, EPS has released his photograph and urged anyone who may have been victimized to come forward.
Cetin was previously a civilian employee of EPS but resigned from the organization on May 31, 2024. Authorities confirmed that the reported assault had not occurred while he was employed with the service.
The youth involved in this case is receiving support from the Zebra Child and Youth Advocacy Centre.
Police are urging anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Cetin or who witnesses him breaching his conditions to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
