A 41-year-old Calgarian has been found gagged and murdered in Costa Rica..Media reports identified the victim in Punteranas, Costa Rica as Steven Spencer Welland..Police said Welland was found gagged and repeatedly stabbed in his mobile home in the city on the country’s Pacific coast..The Organismo de Investigation Judicial said they arrested a 23-year-old man, Lefevre Hernández, at the scene..“The case remains under investigation to determine the circumstances of what happened,” said the OIJ, through its press office..In his obituary, Welland’s family said he was a born and raised Calgarian, and attended Lord Beaverbrook High School and Mount Royal College..“He spent some years in Montreal and when he returned in 2007 he started his own business SW Renovations Inc., which he operated until he left Canada for Central America in 2016,” said the obituary..“If friends so desire please make a tribute in Steven’s memory to a charity of your choice, he particularly loved animals and children.
