A Siksika Nation man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder following a fatal hit and run that killed two people and critically injured a third.Alberta RCMP announced Monday that 27-year-old Adolphus Weaselchild was arrested after an investigation by the RCMP Major Crimes Unit into the Saturday incident. The deceased have been identified as 27-year-old Trayton Runningbird and 45-year-old Clifton Saddleback. A 45-year-old woman remains in critical condition in hospital..The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 54 Map 3 Subdivision on Siksika Nation. According to RCMP, five people were walking when they were struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. Two others were uninjured.Weaselchild has been remanded in custody and will appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller.Investigators are asking anyone with information or surveillance video from the area between 8 and 10 p.m. on Saturday to contact Gleichen RCMP at 403-734-3923 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
