Greg Gutfeld, a Fox News host, has come out shaming the NDP convention for its equity cards — among other things.Last week, the NDP held their annual convention to pick its party leader — and with it came some viral clips, particularly featuring delegates' use of equity cards. These equity cards allowed "equity seeking groups" meaning “racialized members,” indigenous members, members of the “2SLGBTQ+ community,” persons living with disabilities, and women/“non-cis men," to receive colour-coded cards at registration, signaling priority for speaking to ensure “equitable representation.”"Their [NDP's] strategy: equity cards," Gutfeld said about the NDP's tactic to boost itself from its third-place position in the country.."They created a system where differences are exalted instead of similarities — which only results in conflict.""They end up turning on themselves because identity politics is a zero-sum game."Gutfeld is referring of incidents such as one from a clip where a woman with a green equity card at a microphone complains, "I was standing here with my gender equity card before you called on the previous speaker. That’s my point of privilege."A second woman then stated, "I want everyone to be mindful that these cards for individuals like myself who identify as a black woman have no value outside of this space.”."I suppose other Canadians should be grateful. I mean if you let the self-absorbed devour each other they're less likely to annoy you," stated Gutfeld."Except when they get into power — which means maybe it's time for us to build a wall along the northern border," Gutfeld declared.Another international reaction, from Australia, Sky News' Rita Panahi reacted to the equity cards at the convention stating, "The whole thing is nuts.""Everything you say there is a sign of civilizational decline," she stated about the clips.
