With the trial of his fellow Freedom Convoy organizers in recess until October 11, Tom Marazzo has issued The Canadian Citizens Declaration of Non-Confidence in the federal government. .Tamara Lich and Chris Barber are on trial on charges of mischief, intimidation, obstruction of a police officer and counselling to commit the same offences not committed from their time in Ottawa leading the convoy. The convoy was to protest vaccine mandates implemented by the federal government. .Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government invoked the Emergencies Act for the first time in history on February 14, 2022, which gave officials the ability to implement extreme measures such as more police force and freezing Canadians’ bank accounts. .Meanwhile, Marazzo has released a book documenting the events of January and February 2022, and now has drafted The Canadian Citizens Declaration of Non-Confidence, which is being circulated on Twitter. .Marazzo is leading a “reluctant but essential call for reform.” He hopes to find “a courageous MP” who will endorse it and raise the non-confidence in Parliament. The declaration is a petition he is urging people to sign by clicking "yes" at the bottom of the post..“We, the citizens of Canada, united under the banner of democracy, justice, and the true north strong and free, call for urgent and meaningful reform from the existing Government,” the declaration reads. “We decry the government's failures and demand immediate redress, in the form of a petition to be read aloud in the House of Commons.”.“We present these grievances against the existing government as evidence of their negligence, corruption and betrayal of the democratic principles that have long been the cornerstone of our great nation,” it continues, and lists eight charges against federal officials. .The declaration lists “Ethical Missteps” and gives examples of the Aga Khan, SNC-Lavalin, and WE Charity scandals, “Abuse of Power,” “Foreign Policy Failures” with countries including India, Russia and China, and “Misallocation of Resources.” .“Erosion of Trust,” “Threat to National Security,” “Suppression of Charter Rights and Freedoms,” and “Egregious Assault on Bodily Autonomy and the Trampling of Informed Consent” are also on the list of grievances Canadians have with the federal government. .“The current government has inflicted an unconscionable violation upon the sanctity of individual ‘Bodily Autonomy,’ acting with brazen contempt for the universal medical ethic of ‘Informed Consent,” Section 8 of the declaration specifies. “Through heavy-handed and oppressive measures, they have stripped Canadian citizens of the right to make personal health decisions.”.“The coercion to take the Covid-19 vaccination is not simply undue pressure; it is a tyrannical act that borders on medical fascism. This coercive regime uses employment termination, social ostracization and exclusion from fundamental societal services as tools of compulsion, amounting to nothing less than a flagrant infringement upon our most basic human rights. This despotic conduct sets an appalling precedent and displays an abject failure in governance, demanding immediate rectification.”.The document submits six resolutions “in light of the grave transgressions and ethical shortcomings exhibited by the current Government.”.“We, the sovereign citizens of Canada, formally issue a Censure against the Prime Minister, his Cabinet, and the entire Liberal Government of Canada,” the declaration states. “We declare this as an unequivocal expression of our deep-rooted commitment to the fundamental principles of democracy, justice, and liberty that constitute the very foundation of our beloved nation.”.The resolutions are for the declaration to act as a “Trigger for Elections,” “Empowering the Electorate” through the official opposition or a national referendum, “Accountability of Members of Parliament,” “Preservation of Individual Mandate,” “Transparency in Foreign Aid and Military Spending,” and “Multi-Provincial Representation” to ensure “a more comprehensive reflection of national sentiment in federal decision-making.”.“In reasserting these principles, we resolve to tirelessly exercise our democratic rights — be it through voting, peaceful assembly, or free expression — until a government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people is reestablished in Canada,” it says..The declaration will be available for the rest of the week, and Marazzo is looking for at least 100,000 signatures.
