Mir Aali Hussain was pronounced dead at the scene, and police believe it was a targeted shooting but have not confirmed whether Hussain was tied to organized crime..An hour after the unidentified man was gunned down in Coquitlam, another hit and run execution took place 955 km away in Calgary, where police were called to the 1800 block of 26 Avenue S.W. at approximately 5:30 pm MST..When they got there, a man was found suffering gunshot wounds inside a vehicle parked in the alley behind 26 Avenue S.W..The man, identified as Gurkeert Kalkat – the brother of Jaskreet Kalkat, who was gunned down in Burnaby 10 days prior – was pronounced dead on scene.
