Calgary Liberal MP George "Porch Pirate" Chahal will endorse Mark Carney at a Liberal leadership campaign launch in Edmonton on Thursday.
Carney has branded himself a political outsider despite his affiliation with the World Economic Forum and the Bilderberg Group. Carney also rubbed shoulders with European elites, including Prince Andrew at Buckingham Palace. He has also served as an adviser to Justin Trudeau.
"Mark Carney is both a northerner and a Westerner, born in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, and raised right here in Edmonton as a graduate of St. Francis Xavier High School," said Chahal in a statement.
Chahal earned a reputation in media as a "porch pirate" for removing a competitor's campaign material from a doorstep the night before the 2021 federal election. He later admitted to the act, describing it as a "dumb mistake."
"(Carney) has excelled at the highest levels in the public and private sector," said Chahal.
"Growing up in Alberta has instilled in mark the spirit of hard work and perseverance that unites us all across the province."
Carney was involved with the Bilderberg Group on multiple occasions. He was noted to have attended Bilderberg meetings in 2011 and 2012 while he was the Governor of the Bank of Canada.
He was a participant in subsequent years, including in 2019 when he was the Governor of the Bank of England.
Some believe the Bilderberg Group aims to establish a global government or a "New World Order," where national sovereignty is diminished in favour of a centralized global authority controlled by the elite attendees.
Carney was a regular attendee at the WEF's annual meeting in Davos, where he participated in discussions on global economic issues, climate change, and financial stability.
He has contributed to the WEF's thought leadership through articles and speeches, focusing on topics like sustainable finance, climate risk, and the future of capitalism.
One of the most cited complaints about the WEF is the "Great Reset" initiative, which, according to theories, is a plan to use global crises like pandemics or climate change to dismantle capitalism, national sovereignty, and individual rights in favour of a global, socialist, or technocratic regime.
