Greta Thunberg ‘strikes in solidarity with Gaza’ while condemning antisemitism

Greta Thunberg has added her voice to the Israel-Hamas war by pouring out her support for Palestine and Gaza on Instagram.

The Islamic extremist regime attacked Israel on October 7 and there has been a violent war in the Middle East ever since, with people around the world taking one side or another.

Thunberg, holding a sign that says ‘STAND WITH GAZA,’ posed with three friends for an Insta moment Friday. Her friends held signs stating ‘THIS JEW STANDS WITH PALESTINE,’ ‘FREE PALESTINE,’ and ‘CLIMATE JUSTICE NOW’ decorated with Palestinian flags.

“Today we are striking in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza,” Thunberg wrote in the caption.

“The world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected.”

She listed the following accounts so people can 'help': @medicalaidpal, @palestinianyouthmovement, @combatantsforpeace, @ifnotnoworg, @jewishvoiceforpeace, @activestills, @palestinianmedicalreliefsoc, @cjnvgram, @btselem, @standing.together.english, @adalahjusticeproject, @al_haq_organisation, @adalah.legal.center, @palestinespeaks

In her post, Thunberg made an apology for a photo she had posted previously but since removed. She posted a picture of herself with a stuffed animal she noted is sometimes a symbol of antisemitism and “condemned antisemitism.”

“It has come to my knowledge that the stuffed animal shown in my earlier post can be interpreted by some as a symbol for antisemitism, which I was completely unaware of. The toy in the picture is a tool often used by autistic people as a way to communicate feelings.”

“We are of course against every type of discrimination, and condemn antisemitism in all forms and shapes. This is non-negotiable. That is why I deleted the last post.”
