
Housing Minister Sean Fraser has stepped down from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal cabinet, and has no plans to run in the next election.
His resignation came within an hour of Chyrstia Freeland’s resignation as finance minister.
Fraser at a press conference Monday morning told reporters he made the decision so he could spend more time with his family, including his young children.
Other Liberals to step down as cabinet ministers include Randy Boissonnault, who stepped down in November amid allegations of fraud and other ethical breaches, and
Meanwhile, in September, Pablo Rodriguez, former minister of transport, left both cabinet and the Liberal caucus to sit as an independent.
