Hundreds of people lined up outside Canada Place Wednesday morning to get first dibs on official Taylor Swift merchandise. The American pop star is set to perform in Vancouver on December 6, 7, and 8..Doors opened at 10 a.m., but people began lining up long before that. According to Canada Place staff, the first Swifties set up camp just after 4 a.m. .From the end of the lineup inside, the products were barely visible, though one could make out various items of clothing and household goods. Numerous people told the Western Standard that the most sought after article was the Eras Tour crewneck, priced at $95 and limited to two per person.A couple of Swifties back outside explained that this was to combat those who buy up the limited stock of merchandise to sell it for a profit. One fan said her friend who attended the show in Toronto saw people buying as many as 15 sweatshirts at a time in the stadium, causing many fans to leave empty-handed.It remains to be seen whether the items bought by those in Vancouver will end up on Marketplace, though Western Standard did obtain a price list and will be comparing should any be spotted online. The sale at Canada Place will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, as well as 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
