Best-selling author, psychologist and podcaster Jordan Peterson said he's quitting twitter after confirming being on the app made his life worse with an "endless flood of vicious insult." .Peterson has certainly seen the ire of Twitter users over his controversial stances, including a post he made on Monday in response to a New York Post tweet that included the front cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for 2022 with plus-size model Yumi Nu. ."Sorry. Not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that," Peterson said regarding the model sporting a two-piece swimsuit. .The response from Twitter users has been highly critical of his comments and is likely the cause for a number of posts explaining his departure from the platform. .He explained in a tweet posted on Monday he had stopped accessing Twitter for a three week period as an experiment. ."I had some of my staff post video links etc.," said Peterson in the tweet. ."It was a genuine relief. I started to read and write more. I started using it again, a few days ago, and I would say that my life got worse again almost instantly." .He then tweeted, "The endless flood of vicious insult is really not something that can be experienced anywhere else."."I like to follow the people I know but I think the incentive structure of the platform makes it intrinsically and dangerously insane." .He followed that with another tweet saying he told his staff to change his password. ."So I told my staff to change my password, to keep me from temptation, and am departing again," he said. ."If I have something to say I'll write an article or make a video. If the issue is not important enough to justify that then perhaps it would be best to just let it go." .And, a final tweet from Peterson said he plans to write an article on the "technical reasons that Twitter is maddening us all very soon" and ended the tweet saying, "Bye for now."
