A Kelowna man has been charged with second-degree murder following a violent incident that left one woman dead and another seriously injured on Wednesday.Police say they were called around 12:54 p.m. to the 1900-block of Enterprise Way for what was first reported as a vehicle incident that escalated into an assault involving a weapon. A male suspect was arrested after a short pursuit, and both female victims were taken to hospital.One of the women, Bailey Plover, later died from her injuries. The other remains in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.On Thursday, the BC Prosecution Service approved a charge of second-degree murder against James Edward Plover, who was known to the deceased. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.Kelowna RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing. Police are asking anyone who may have information about the accused's movements in the days leading up to the incident to contact investigators.Authorities are also encouraging community members affected by the tragedy to access available support services, including Victim Services.
