Authorities are investigating a deadly explosion that occurred at a residence in Langley on Friday.
The blast happened at 10:40 a.m. at a home in the 7300 block of 196 St.
Investigators have remained at the scene over the past few days to conduct a thorough examination.
"I can confirm that a deceased person has been located inside the residence," said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. Authorities are working with the BC Coroners Service to identify the individual.
While the exact cause of the explosion is still under investigation, preliminary findings suggest it may be linked to an illegal drug extraction lab. However, a definitive conclusion will require further expert analysis.
Langley RCMP urge anyone with information about the incident who has not yet spoken with authorities to come forward. Witnesses can contact the Langley RCMP and reference file 2025-6044.
