
An earthquake has struck off the coast of southeastern Vancouver Island, the third to hit British Columbia since February 21.
The Magnitude 4.1 quake was recorded 43 km east of Sidney, BC at 5:02 a.m. Monday morning.
According to Emergency Info BC, the quake did not present a threat of triggering a tsunami.
Earthquakes Canada said the impact was "lightly felt in and around Victoria and Vancouver," but that there were no reports of damage.
On February 24, a Magnitude 5.2 quake was recorded 212 km west of Port McNeil off the northwestern coast of Vancouver Island. It was "not felt," and did not inflict any damage.
Three days earlier, however, a Magnitude 5.1 quake 27 km north of Sechelt was felt by people across Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, and the Lower Mainland. No damage was reported.
