A Vancouver man suffering from "psychosis" was apprehended after allegedly trying to drive into the Pacific Coliseum during a packed Cirque du Soleil performance Thursday evening. It has since been revealed that the suspect was experiencing "religious delusions" at the time, with VPD Sgt. Steve Addison adding that he "was speaking and acting erratically, talking about Satan, talking about God, [and] saying other things that made it very obvious he was experiencing a mental health crisis."According to the Vancouver Police Department, the incident took place shortly after 8 p.m. at the front entrance of the iconic stadium. After crashing into the doors — which thankfully held strong and prevented him from getting in — the suspect was detained by security personnel. When police arrived on scene, they apprehended him under the Mental Health Act and took him to hospital.Despite the fact that there were people both outside and in the venue, no injuries were reported.."There were lots of people here — thousands of people inside and outside of the venue," Addison said during a press conference at the scene. "We're relieved. It's a miracle that nobody was killed."He expressed hope that the suspect was "getting the care that he needs" in hospital..Addison's sentiments were echoed by Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim, who thanked law enforcement for responding quickly."Incredibly grateful no one was hurt," he added. "The safety of everyone attending events in our city is our top priority and we’ll continue working to keep Vancouver safe.".The incident comes 40 days after a mentally ill man allegedly drove through a crowd of people at Vancouver's Lapu Lapu Day festival, killing 11 and injuring dozens more..REVEALED: Suspect in horrific Vancouver Filipino festival attack was 'on extended leave' from hospital. The suspect in that case, Kai-Ji Adam Lo, had been on "extended leave" from hospital at the time of the attack.
