Michelle Obama revealed that she was supposed to see the late Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, on the night they died. The former first lady revealed this Monday on The Jimmy Kimmel Show."We've known them for many, many years and we were supposed to be seeing them that night — last night [Sunday night]," she told Kimmel."And we got the news, let me just say this — unlike some people — Rob and Michele Reiner are some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know.".Reiner and his wife were found murdered at their Brentwood home on Sunday — and were discovered by their daughter, Romy.According to Fox News, photos have been released capturing Nick Reiner, Michelle and Rob's son, being arrested on suspicion of murdering his parents. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) originally captured the moment that occured on Sunday. On Monday, LAPD said they were called to the scene on Sunday at 3:40 pm, responding to a call for a death investigation in the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue.."Once inside the residence, officers discovered two victims, who were subsequently identified as Robert and Michele Reiner," LAPD stated."Robbery Homicide Division, Homicide Special Section (RHD/HSS), responded to the residence and initiated an investigation regarding the circumstances of their deaths."LAPD stated that after the initial investigation, their 32-year-old son Nick, who lived with his parents, "was responsible for their deaths."Prior to their murders, the Reiner family, including Rob, Michele, and Nick, attended Conan O'Brien's Christmas party on Saturday evening — where family friends told the Los Angeles Times they witnessed Rob and Nick getting into a "very loud argument.".After the argument, witnesses say Michele and Rob left the party. The Daily Mail was told by a Reiners' family friend, Nick was "a deeply troubled child who needed physical restraint for his rages from a young age."Nick had addictions to cocaine, heroin and meth, and has experienced bouts of homelessness, and multiple stints in rehab since the age of 15. The friend suggested that Nick was "babied" by his parents, which frustrated his siblings, Romy and Jake..The friend added that Nick's anger was not new."A lot of their fights had to do with him just doing something self-destructive, and fighting back when they tried to help him," the friend said. "It did get physical sometimes — I'm not talking punches, but restraining him.""I was over there, it must have been early 2000s because he was about 11, and he was throwing the biggest tantrum, and Rob just had him in a bear hug to restrain him.""The tantrum was over nothing, but he had so much anger in his eyes. It was terrifying really.""And this happened a lot, and he never outgrew it. He had tantrums in his 20s.".The friend said whenever they would go over to the Reiners' house Nick would, "constantly smell like weed and sweat.""'He was a mess. I was over one time, this had to be two or three years ago, and he came into the kitchen, clearly high on something, grabbed some stuff from the fridge and went back to his room, which was on the property.""I said hello, and he just grunted.""Michele said, 'Aren't you going to be more polite?' — and he just grunted again and walked out. They had no control over him, when he was young, or when he got older. He was always rude."."Nick said horrible things to his father, but he would defend him to the death with anyone else," the friend said."'And Rob and Michele were so protective of all their kids, but especially Nick. He was the one who gave them the most trouble. There were a lot of sleepless nights because of him.""The drug use, the mental spirals. He was unwell a lot of the time, and they were doing whatever they could to hold it together for him. To anchor him. He just had so many problems; he was so troubled. And they loved him dearly.'"Nick was supposed to make a court appearance today for the deaths of his parents, but according to his attorney, Alan Jackson he has not been medically cleared for transport..According to CNN, Jackson did not elaborate when Reiner would be cleared.Prosecutors have put together a charging document based on evidence collected by police, but have not yet announced any criminal charges. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has announced that they will be charging Nick Reiner, Rob and Michele Reiner's son, with two counts of first degree murder of his parents.LAPD official had this to say about the charges, "once the charges get filed, this afternoon, Nick Reiner will be then brought to court.""He is going through medical clearance, something that everybody who goes, who gets arrested and gets held in a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department jail goes through."."Once he is medically cleared, he will be brought to court to be arraigned on these charges. At that point, he will enter a plea of guilty or not guilty."
