A 54-year-old woman from Benalto, Alberta, is dead and a 63-year-old man is in life-threatening condition following a helicopter crash near a private landing strip in Lacombe County.Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to the crash around 12:23 p.m. on Friday near Range Road 40. Emergency crews attempted to assist the woman, but she was declared deceased at the scene. The pilot, a Lacombe County resident, was airlifted by STARS to hospital.RCMP secured the area until the Transportation Safety Board arrived to take over the investigation.
