Calgary police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl on a Calgary Transit bus.The incident occurred on Sunday, May 25, between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., when the girl and two of her family members boarded a transit bus. An unknown man got on the same bus and sat next to the girl. During the ride, police say the man inappropriately touched the child.The victim later told a trusted adult at school, who reported the incident to police. The Calgary Police Service Child Abuse Unit began an investigation, but after exhausting all leads, are now asking for public assistance to identify the suspect.He is described as being between 30 and 35 years old, bald, with a small amount of facial hair. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a navy-blue jacket, a white patterned shirt, and jeans. Investigators believe he regularly uses the Calgary Transit system.The girl is receiving support from the LUNA Child & Youth Advocacy Centre.Police urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to report it, no matter when the incident occurred.
