A police officer was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting that occurred early in the morning in a village east of Ottawa, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)..The OPP said three officers were dispatched to a residence in Bourget, ON, just after 2 a.m. in response to a report of gunshots being heard..All three officers were shot by an individual at the residence, according to the OPP..The OPP confirmed the injured officers were transported to a hospital in Ottawa and one of them passed away due to the injuries from the shooting..OPP reported that the other injured officers are recovering and one suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting..Bourget is located approximately 50 kms east of Ottawa..According to the OPP, there is no danger to the public after the shooting incident and no additional information has been released.
