Ottawa Police Constable Craig Barlow was on the hot seat Wednesday at the Tamara Lich-Chris Barber trial for not including video evidence of a woman trampled by RCMP on horseback during the Freedom Convoy. .He said he was “never asked” by the Crown to include such footage. .Barlow appeared on the stand for the second time in the trial of the Freedom Convoy organizers who face charges from the time of the protest in February 2022. .Barlow testified the first week of the trial which began September 5, but was cut short due to disclosure issues. .The video in question circulated on social media during the convoy, as it clearly shows an RCMP officer on a horse trampling a woman and her walker, as well as a man..People in the crowd can be heard shouting “They just trampled that lady,” “Lady got fully trampled by a horse,” and “What the f*** is wrong with you guys!”.Defence attorney Diane Magas asked Barlow if he had seen the video. .“I don’t know why you are asking,” Barlow said. .“Why don’t you answer the question?” Justice Heather Perkins-McVey interjected. “I can see officers.”.Barlow finally admitted, “I saw that video many times from many angles.”.“So this type of video was asked of you,” Perkins-McVey said. “Answer the question.”.“I was not asked to provide this video,” Barlow said. .The court paused for a sidebar to determine why the video was never added to the compilation Barlow had previously testified he was responsible for making. .“Read the document, familiarize yourself and answer the question,” the judge said. .“So there was nothing in this that [was] deemed fit [for compilation]?” Magas clarified. .“The Crown Attorney didn’t ask for it,” Barlow repeated. “The Crown did not ask me to go through social media and get stuff from social media. They asked me to go through police videos. I think I answered that question."
