Police in North Vancouver have launched an investigation into multiple incidents of stickers promoting white supremacy being posted in the community.
The stickers have since been removed.
According to the North Vancouver RCMP, officers were alerted on January 27 to the presence of several large white stickers placed on poles, fences, and signs throughout the central Lonsdale neighbourhood.
The stickers contained English text promoting an ignorant and discriminatory ideology against ethnic diversity. In some cases, these larger stickers were accompanied by smaller, rectangular stickers featuring a QR code and web address.
The RCMP began investigating the matter as a wilful promotion of hatred, and are actively seeking information to identify those responsible.
"Promoting hate propaganda has no place in our community, and these ideologies are not representative of our community," Media Relations Officer Cpl. Mansoor Sahak said. "We remain committed to ensuring North Vancouver is a safe and inclusive place for everyone."
Despite extensive investigative efforts over the past several months, authorities have yet to identify the individuals behind these incidents. As a result, police are now appealing to the public for assistance.
Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311, quoting file #2025-1856. Those who wish to provide information anonymously can do so by reaching out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
