RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a homicide after a body was discovered in a roadside fire near Strathmore in the early hours of Wednesday.Around 1:35 a.m., a motorist traveling along TR 233 near Hwy. 791 in Rocky View County noticed the fire and alerted authorities. Once the fire was extinguished, police discovered a deceased individual at the scene.An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on Thursday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary to determine the cause of death.RCMP Major Crimes has taken over the investigation and is seeking help from the public. They are requesting anyone with dash camera footage who was in the area between 12:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., or driving on Hwy. 560 near Glenmore and Stoney Trs. during that time, to come forward.Authorities believe the incident was a targeted attack, and there is no threat to the public.
