A freight train has gone off the rails near Boston Bar after being caught in a rockslide.
While a total of 12 grain cars were destroyed, no injuries were reported.
According to a local who witnessed the aftermath with her drone, the incident took place around noon on Sunday December 22. The impact sent numerous cars down the cliff into the Fraser River below, with one found floating 4km downstream.
"Cleanup of the derailed rail cars and grain will continue over the coming days and weeks," Canadian Pacific Kansas City spokesperson Ashley Michnowski said in a statement, per CTV News, adding that no dangerous goods were released.
