After a rough outing against the Montreal Alouettes last Thursday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders dropped to the middle of the pack in the Canadian Football League (CFL) power rankings..In the official CFL power rankings, the Roughriders went from second to fourth place, and in the 3DownNation power rankings, the Roughriders moved from second to sixth place..Fajardo had a horrible performance against the Alouettes and head coach Craig Dickenson pulled him in the fourth quarter after being unable to put up 200 yards passing or a touchdown..It was arguably Fajardo’s worst game since joining the Roughriders and his teammates did not help, racking up 11 penalties for 106 yards..The frustration on the Roughriders’ sideline was noticeable, as nothing seemed to work on either side of the ball..This was the first loss of the season for the Roughriders, but the Alouettes were 0-2 going into the game..Star receiver Shaq Evans left the game with an ankle injury near the end of the first quarter..Evans’ injury puts him on the sideline for the next 6–8 weeks and he knew something serious had happened with his ankle immediately..“I felt the crack and I knew it wasn’t going to be good,” said Evans..The Roughriders and Evans set a target for his return to be the annual Labour Day Classic against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers..Two receivers who need to take on a bigger role in Evans’ absence are Samuel Emilus and Jakob Prall..Evans describes first-round pick Emilus as “a guy that’s soaking everything in and he’s humble. He wants to work, he just wants to work, and that’s what I love about him.”.The Roughriders can get revenge against the Alouettes at home this week.
