Saskatchewan’s economic recovery continues to trend in the right direction with two key economic growth indicators of manufacturing sales and wholesale trade leading Canada.
The province is leading both year-over-year and month-to-month growth.
“Saskatchewan’s strong and growing economy is back on track,” said Jeremy Harrison, minister of Trade and Export Development.
“Our government is committed to attracting investment, increasing the value of our exports and diversifying our international markets and trade opportunities to ensure this growth continues.”
Saskatchewan’s wholesale trade for February 2022 went up by 36.7% over February 2021, with that year-over-year growth the highest of any province.
Saskatchewan had a 5.4% wholesale trade increase from January 2022 to February 2022, the highest month-to-month in Canada.
February’s manufacturing sales increased by 39.7% compared to February 2021, once again, the highest year-over-year of any province.
The manufacturing sales rose by 9.5% from January 2022 to February 2022, also the highest month-to-month in Canada.
Saskatchewan’s manufacturing sales hit about $2 billion in February 2022.
Saskatchewan’s wholesale trade reached approximately $3.5 billion in February 2022.
