A notorious Khalistani terrorist has reportedly claimed responsibility for a shooting attack at a cafe in Surrey, BC on Wednesday night.At least nine shots were fired, but nobody was injured..Footage obtained by independent journalist Ritesh Lakhi appears to show someone firing at Kap's Cafe on Scott Rd. and 85 Ave., which occupies the ground floor of a residential building and is owned by Indian comedian Kapil Sharma.Lakhi added that Harjit Singh Laddi, known for his involvement in Khalistani militant organization Babbar Khalsa, said he was behind the attack, citing "remarks" made by Sharma.According to the Hindustan Times, Laddi lives in Punjab and has been accused of "orchestrating several violent attacks" in the state, including at least one assassination. India's National Investigation Agency announced a ₹10 lakh ($16,000 CAD) reward for his arrest in 2024, and he remains one of the most wanted men in the country.The Babbar Khalsa group operates all over the world, including the United Kingdom and Canada..Sharma, who also has a worldwide presence, opened the cafe just days earlier..Footage taken Thursday morning shows police tape around the scene. Sturko made it clear that such behaviour was not welcome in Surrey, adding, "people should feel safe operating a business, raising their families, and walking their streets.""Unfortunately, under this NDP government, communities like Surrey feel more dangerous by the day," she lamented, calling on Premier David Eby to "stop downplaying escalating violence and deliver a real public safety plan that restores peace of mind in Surrey and beyond."
