Fox mentioned the threat by Ontario Premier Doug Ford to cut off energy supply to the U.S. if Trump follows through on his tariff threat."I'm doing my best to try to convince my colleagues that a tariff war is one we cannot win," said Smith, noting the American economy is $27 trillion, while the Canadian economy is around $2.7 trillion."And so, we're trying to talk in terms of American interests," said Smith. "We know there's a lot of energy that comes down to the U.S. It means you have cheaper gasoline — we calculate that a 25% tariff would increase the cost of your gasoline by a buck gallon. We also, on the east coast, have a lot of electricity that comes down that will increase your power prices."
