The 15-year-old victim of a fatal stabbing in Larch Park over the weekend has been identified as Billy Ledoux, as police continue to investigate the tragic incident.Abbotsford Police responded to reports of a stabbing at approximately 7:36 p.m. on Sunday in the 2600 block of Beck Rd. When officers arrived, they found Ledoux with critical, life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving efforts from bystanders and emergency responders, the teen died at the scene. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation and is working closely with the Abbotsford Police Department’s Major Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services, and the BC Coroners Service. Two youths initially arrested near the scene have been cleared of any involvement and released to their parents. Investigators say early evidence suggests the stabbing was not a random act.“Billy was only 15 years old and had his whole life ahead of him,” said IHIT Sgt. Freda Fong. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and classmates. As the community mourns the loss of Billy, his family asks that all come together to remember and celebrate his life. They are encouraging the community to seek peace, not revenge.”Police believe there are people with information that could help solve the case and are urging anyone who was in or around Larch Park between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on the night of the incident — or who may have dashcam footage — to come forward.Tips can be submitted to the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
